Stamping for Families blog hop

I created this card for our blog hop to promote keeping families together and reunification of those who have been separated. This is not about political affiliation but instead about compassion. My little boy is 3 and I haven't spent a night away from him in all that time. I cant imagine weeks or months not know where he was or who was looking after him. The idea alone has given me nightmares.

Here are a few links with ways to help:
The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, or RAICES, in Texas has a family reunification fund that helps undocumented immigrants pay bonds; usually at least $1500

The Arizona-based Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project provides legal services to immigrants and unaccompanied children.

Kids in Need of Defense partnered with Target to create Baby2Baby, a registry where you can purchase diapers and other essentials for immigrant children.

Purchase snacks, toiletries, and medicine for children through Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley’s Amazon wish list. The organization shelters immigrants released from custody.

I will be adding a $25 gift card to Butterfly Reflections Ink (not affiliated with this hop but my own personal donation)  for anyone who comments on my blog post or adds a card to the link up below. Some of the other participants will be offering prizes as well!

Schoolhouse (Release Week Neat & Tangled)

Hi! back again for day 3 too! Can you tell I am enjoying this release?

Day 1 is here.
Day 2 is here.

Neat & Tangled is here.

Onto the cards!

The background again is just a soft wash of distress ink in Hickory Smoke & Peacock Feathers. The adorable bear & accessories are copic colored. I added some of the teal sequins from the new Starry Night sequin mix. I thought this worked well for thank you teacher cards.

I also wanted to make a gender neutral card to give to a friend so this time I only used Nuvo drops for accents.  These little mice were my favorite. I thought the background reminded me of a chalk board.

I want to make a few more and have a set!

You're A Gem (Release Week Neat & Tangled)

Back for day two of this release for Neat & Tangled.

See Day 1 here.

Here is a look at today's stamp/die set & sequins:

And my design:

This set of gemstones was so much fun to play with I just couldn't stop! I white heat embossed the gems first on some watercolor cardstock before water coloring with several shades of distress ink. The background was just a light wash that I dried with my heat tool & then spattered with the same inks I used for the gems before stamping my sentiment. I added the die cut gems once they dried along with the new Starry Night sequin mix which has to be my new favorite!

Together (Release Week Neat & Tangled)

Hello!! I am so excited to be joining the Neat and Tangled crew for release week.
Kicking of this release today with this fun sentiment set, Together.

I just love all the different uses for this set!

I water colored the background first using some distress inks in Abandon Coral, Worn Lipstick and Tattered rose. I used the coordinating dies to the stamp set to die cut first in this gorgeous coral colored card stock for the background die and then die cut the sentiment Together in Neenah Solar White card stock. I chose the companion sentiment In Spirit so I could send this to a friend who could use a pick me up. I heat embossed that on a small stripe of black. Lastly I used the Sherbet Sequin Mix from N&T and I know a few look purple but they are actually iridescent and pick up blue/purple one way and peachy sparkle the other. They are some of my favorite sequins for summer.

Don't forget to check everyone else's cards at the Neat & Tangled blog!

Meowwwww - Sharna W.

I have two cards for you today! I'm just loving this new Meowwwww stamp set from Neat & Tangled! I happen to collect cat stamps so this was right up my alley. I have had this Lawn Fawn paper pack since it came out too and this was the perfect time to use it. These kitties were just so cuddly I needed cuddly paper and what is more cuddly than a sweater?!
