Its your Birthday, Relax! - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

My first entry for the new challenge at Lawn Fawnatics is totally tropical. This summer release has me dreaming of the beach in the Caribbean. I used the new On The Beach stamp set, Tropical Backdrop dies, stitched waves borders, and stitched hillside borders.

The sky is made with distress oxide inks in Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon & Abandon Coral on bristol cardstock. The waves were done in Peacock Feathers and the tree tops in Pine needles. The beach and trunks of the palm trees was done in Desert Storm cardstock and copics.

All A-Boat You! - Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends! Can you even handle the cuteness of the newest Lawn Fawn release? I just had to get started right away. I love nautical themed stuff, the colors and the boaty stuff so the first set I had to take out was Smooth Sailing. The tiny critters on the boats, oh my gosh, just my favorite thing! I used to make paper boats and fill them with my stuffed animals and  this set just hit home because of that. Ive also hoarding my Beachside Lawn Fawn papers. I have 3 of the 6x6 petite paper packs. It was time to put it to good use!

I used the Stitched Waves Borders to cut some matching cardstock for my scene as well as the Fancy Wavy Banners for the sentiment which also comes from the Smooth Sailing set. I did some easy copic coloring with BG 78, 75 & 72 for the sailboat flags, some E44 & 43 for the tiny teddy and C5, 3, 1 & 0 for the boats. The heart is a little R29. And thats it! I really hope you like my card and find a little bit of inspiration.

Pretty Pink Posh April Release Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for joining me during today's Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop for the April 2019 release. This release has so much to offer, cute critters, florals, a full background die & even stencils! Great for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation and more...

And some more exciting new! As part of this hop there are 4 $25 gift certificates up for grabs (two winners each day). Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Comments must be left by 11:59 PM PST on 3/13/2019. Winners will be announced on the PPP blog.

This card was made with distress oxide ink blended onto Bristol cardstock. I used Mermaid lagoon around the edges and peacock feathers in the middle. I spattered the whole thing with copic opaque white that I now keep in a mini mister mixed with water. Works great for the look I want. I copic colored the leaves from the Spring Wreath set with BG78, 75 & 72. The elephants from the new Elephant Friends stamp set are done with N4, 2 & 0 and a little R11 for the ears. The frame I made with the Storybook 3 die; I just trimmed out the middle. I used some white nuvo drops as the final accent. The sentiment from the new Fathers Day stamp set is white heat embossed directly on the background. I know a brand new dad that this card will be perfect for with that adorable baby elephant perched on top.

And this one was put together much the same way. I used some Pine needles and cracked pistachio on this version and I darkened the edges with black soot. I used the Storybook 3 dies again and this time I used the inside panels that were cut when I made the frame for the previous card. Along with the new Animal Signs I used a tiny Koala from Koala friends; it just works so perfectly with the new set. I think this makes the perfect grad card or any occasion you'd like to tell a loved one they've done a good job. The copics I used for the Koala were the W5, 3, 1 & 0 for the baby with a little R11 again for the ears and cheeks.

Lastly I have another fathers day card featuring the new mini Fathers Day stamp set. I'm going to be making a version of this card in a class I am teaching at Craft Fancy next week along with more Pretty Pink Posh! Call the store at (847) 670-6065 if you want to sign up (for those in the Chicagoland area). This version is made with ny Tombow Dual Brush pens and then spattered with some black soot distress ink. The sentiment is white heat embossed on some black cardstock and foam mounted to the card.

Blog Hop:

Just hanging around - Hello Sweetums

Hello Crafty Friends! Here with this ridiculously adorable Funky Monkey stamp set from Hello Sweetums. Its got some super cute monkeys paired with a bunch of punny sentiments. Also includes some scene builder elements which I always appreciate.

I started with a base of distress oxide blending in twisted citron and mowed lawn. I stamped the solid leaf stamp from the set just to give the top edge some texture. The monkey's are copic colored with E47, 44, 43 & 41. The leaves are YG67, 63, 61 & a top coat of YG03 to brighten them up a bit. Bananas are YR24, YR30 and Y11. I stamped the solid leaves again in the mowed lawn. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock.

Can you get over how cute they are??

Mer Friends - Hello Sweetums

Hello my crafty friends! I finally got my hands on some of the Hello Sweetums stamp sets. This is my first card with Angie's adorable images. You can learn more about Hello Sweetums here! Not only are her images adorable but Angie is just as sweet as pie too.

So I am always in love with the scenes Nichol makes so you can see some of her influence here. I love the light streaming through the water so I picked up the light rays stencil at the same time as my stamps. I was also inspired by Jenn Shurkus with her rainbow mermaids recently so I played on that theme as well.

The background was made using some Blueprint sketch distress ink blended on the upper 2 thirds of some Bristol paper and some Shaded Lilac which I concentrated into the middle. I used the same Shaded Lilac through the MFT light rays stencil. I stamped the coral with Chipped Sapphire. The sand is in Warm Honey and Spiced Marmalade. The images are all colored with Copic markers.

Feathered Friend - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends! Today I decided to do some heat embossing and ink smooshing. I recently picked up the Peacock Friends stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh and I had this idea brewing in the back of mind my for a while. I white heat embossed the feathers all over some watercolor paper in a random pattern. Once embossed I smooshed some Distress Ink (not oxides!) on my easy clean mat. I used Peacock Feathers (obviously had to!) Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and lastly Wilted Violet. I then used a few copic markers in similar colors to highlight the feathers and make them stand out from the background. I white heat embossed the sentiment as well on some black cardstock.

Distress Ink:
Mermaid Lagoon
Peacock Feathers
Cracked Pistachio
Wilted Violet

Copics:
BG13, 10
BV01, 0000
B01, 0000

Fairy Friends - Waffle Flower

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a slight obsession with fairies (and dragons too to be fair) so I snatched up this set right away. I wanted a little twilight scene for this card so I ink blended some distress oxide ink in blueprint sketch along the top of the card concentrating on the edges. I brought in a little shaded lilac in the center for a soft sky transition. I used twisted citron for the ground which blends nicely with the blueprint sketch to form a darker green. I used copic opaque white for splatter to give that nice starry sky effect.

I was smitten with the dandilion fluffs when I saw them so I just had to add some puff to them. I used Neon Amplify which I had never used before and it worked like a charm! I just put a little bit around one edge and then hit it with my heat tool until it puffed up.

The images are all colored using copics. I added a bit of sparkle to the fairy wings using liquid glue and Lawn Fawns prisma glitter. I finished off the card with a simple white heat embossed sentiment.

Fun With Food - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 50

https://www.lawnfawnatics.com/announcement/lawn-fawnatics-challenge-50-fun-with-food

Hey everyone, here with an entry for the Lawn Fawnatics 50th challenge! I love all of the fun food sets that Lawn Fawn comes out with but this little S'more is by far my favorite. S'mores are some of my favorite summertime foods. They remind me of all the fun times I spent camping.

**And I realize now I must have been channeling Jessica because I even used the same sentiment. Great minds and all that!!

I made a simple distress oxide ink blended background. I combined twisted citron with mermaid lagoon. I splattered the background with more of the same colors along with some copic opaque white. I die cut using a Lawn Fawn stitched circle. I curved a sentiment to go around the outside of the circle and stamped it in Lawn Fawn's Jet Black ink. The S'mores are copic colored in various shades of brown. The crackers are in e30s, the marshmallows are e50's and the chocolate is e20's. I used a tiny enamle heart from Doodlebug.

Be Friends - Waffle Flower

Hello Crafty friends! I've been so excited to play with some of my new Waffle Flower goodies! I just had to start with the new Be Her set. I started also in on the 100 days project on Instagram and these cards just kind of fell together because of that. My 100 day project are backgrounds. I am just playing with different media and color combos and hopefully at the end of it will have made 100 cards!

The backgrounds were done with distress ink water colored on some Bristol paper. All except the unicorn; if you can spot the subtle off white color. I have no idea what that is but it was mixed in with my pre-cut Bristol. I didn't notice until I was photographing that it didn't match the rest. I did some very simple copic coloring on all the animals. In fact the bodies are all done with C1-C5 in varying amounts. For the sentiments I grabbed some of my other Waffle Flower sets. I think the kitten is my favorite. I love this set so much I had to get the companion Be Him set as well. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Dino-Mite! - Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! Just a few quick cards I whipped up for my local shop here in Chicago; Craft Fancy. I just love playing with the dino sets from Lawn Fawn. This has both Critters from the Past (Tree ) and Rawsome. I used the new Spiffy Speckles petite paper in purple for the bottom layer and some distress oxide in dried marigold.

Flying Higher - Mama Elephant

I am back with another card today featuring Mama Elephant Fly With Me stamp set.  I used distress oxide in peacock feathers and the MFT stamps cloud stencil for the background. Its a really simple card; perfect for my friends babyshower.

Fairy Friend - Mama Elephant

Hello everyone! I've got an extra sweet fairy card today. I was instantly in love with the fairies as soon as I saw a sneak peek from Mama Elephant. They pair so perfectly with the new floral boarder set as well. I always like to have a general occasion card on hand so this worked out perfectly.

For the floral boarder I stamped on some Bristol paper using Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn and then got out several shades of purple, green and yellow Tombow Dual Brush pens. I used only one color and blended out with a water brush. The fairies are done with copics.

Copics: BV13, BV11, BV31 & BV0000; E21 & E00; E44, E43, E40
Tombows: 603, 606, 676, 055, 879, 177, 249, 243, N55

Everything Dinos! - Lawn Fawn

I was beyond excited to see more Dino stamps from Lawn Fawn. I absolutely love Dinosaurs ever since I saw Land Before time as a child. I think I got my sass from Cera si I of course had to use the puny sentiment for her.

The sky, grass & sand are all the new Spiffy Speckles paper from Lawn Fawn. Its absolutely perfect for scene setting! The water is some distress oxide in peacock feathers and die cut with die from Bayou Backdrops. The sentiment is distress oxide in mermaid lagoon and I stamped it on the new Fancy Wavy Banners. All my images were stamped using antique linen distress ink and then colored using Tombow Dual Brush markers. They were blended using water and a paint brush. I am loving how this no line adventure turned out. What do you think?

Send love & hugs - Pretty Pink Posh

Once I got my hands onto these floral Cherry Blossoms stamps I was just dying to white heat emboss them and do a bit of watercolor with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I added in one of the new Beautiful Butterflies for a finishing touch too. For a touch of sparkle I used some of the Sweet Pea sequin mix.

Have a lucky day! - Lawn Fawn

I might have a drop or two of Irish blood in me... somewhere. My Scottish family moved to Ireland and then onto Nova Scotia. That's on my Dads side. My red hair is actually courtesy of my mom's Russian roots. But I'll always celebrate St. Patrick's day like any good Chicagoan. So a bit of luck to you today!

For the card I used Black Soot Distress Ink blended onto a forest green cardstock panel and splattered with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors in the color yellow gold. I heat embossed the sentiment with Lawn Fawn's Gold embossing powder onto one of the new Fancy Wavy Banners. The shamrocks are from an older Lawn Fawn set My Lucky Charm.
