Cozy Christmas - Waffle Flower

Hello again crafty friends! I am back with my third and final post guesting for the Waffle Flower November release. I am so glad I got to be a part of this months release!

Today I am featuring the new Cozy Cabin Dies which just go perfectly with the Winter Hamster Stamp set.

I die cut all the pieces of the Cozy Cabin die from white cardstock so I use use my distress oxide inks for blending and customizing. The distress oxide colors are Pumice Stone, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey & Spiced Marmalade. The inside of the windows are colored with copics in B99, B95 & B93 with a little white gel pen detail for snow. The Hamsters are colored in shades of E44, E43 & E40 with accessories in BG78, BG75, BG72, BG12, BG10 & BG0000. Cheeks and heart was done with a little R11 & R20.

Leaf Dance - Waffle Flower

Hello Crafty Friends! Back with card #2 for this new Waffle Flower release. I love Big Bear and Bird designs so I was over the moon to receive Blessed Bear. I was inspired directly from the designers feed for my bear color here. I just love her soft fuzzy bears. This set was so whimsical the card just kind of fell together with the bear dancing in the leaves with his little bird friends.

I started with a dark navy blue cardstock and took some distress ink in black soot to the edges. I splattered the finished ink blended card with several colors of the Gansai Tambi starry color watercolor palette; red gold, yellow gold and blue gold. I used a gold embossed sentiment on a white cardstock banner so it really pops against the dark background. The images are copic colored.

Bear: E44, E43, E40
Scarf/Leaves: Y38, Y35, YR30
Red Leaves: E18, E15
Green Leaves: YG67, YG63, YG61
Birds: B02, B00, B000

Happy Hamster - Waffle Flower

Hello crafty friends! I am so excited to be guesting for Waffle Flower for this release!! When I received this stamp Winter Hamsters set and I admit I might have squealed in happiness a tiny bit. These chubby little hamsters are just adorable. I already own the office hamster set so I was delighted to see a Christmas set. By the way, an extra neat feature with the dies is worth a look. The way the stamps are grouped means you stamp them and the dies are all on one so you can cut a bunch at once. This is especially handy for all the little coordinating images for scene building.  I am including a video for today's card as well, click here to go to the HD version on YouTube. I'd love it if you gave a follow as well. I hope you enjoy :)

Spooktacular Halloween - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends! I hope you have a spooky evening tonight! Halloween has always been a favorite holiday for me. I love horror movies, books etc ever since I was a kid. However I HATE haunted houses! I'll walk through a real graveyard at Midnight on devils night before I do another Haunted House. Ha! I used to not make Halloween cards even though I loved all the images, I mean who do you give them to? My answer now is, other crafters! I love getting Halloween cards. I will be sending out a few this year including this one.

This card features distress oxide ink blending over the Pretty Pink Posh Spider Web Stencil. I used Faded Lilac first in the center. Coming in from the edges I used Blueprint Sketch and then lightly with the black soot. I then splattered the background.

Some Buggie - Hello Sweetums

Hello Craft Friends!

I am here today with a card featuring the stamp set Bitty Bugs from Hello Sweetums. Something about seeing the view from the garden from a bugs perspective just really drew me to this set. Did you ever see Honey I shrunk the Kids? There is a scene where they are out in the grass and everything is giant sized and I just adored it. That's where I got my inspiration from today.

I wont fool you here and say the background was easy, it wasn't. It took me a few tries before I was happy with the layout and the blending. And that's ok! Don't be afraid to start fresh if  something didn't turn out.

I started by using masking paper which I cut using landscape dies. I cut two interlocking layers. First I adhered the top part of the mask and blended cracked pistachio distress oxide downwards. Once that dried, I placed the bottom part of the mask to line it up with the top and then I peeled up a smaller section I had cut between the two for the dirt. I blended across the center of the card with  Tea Dye distress oxide and a bit of vintage photo to darken the top. I also splatted on some vintage photo for texture. I replaced the middle mask after it dried and peeled up the top. I very lightly used Spun Sugar distress oxide through a stencil and brought it down from the top edge. Then I used Faded lilac and a cloud stencil to finish off the background.

The images from Bitty Bugs were stamped and die cut from Neenah 110lb cardstock and copic colored. Lastly the sentiment I stamped out on a banner strip. I masked off the middle "Buggie" while I inked up the other words with black ink and stamped. Then I reversed it and covered the other words so I could ink up Buggie with distress Oxide inks. I used Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick to get a bit of an ombre effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merriest Wishes

Hello crafty friends, I'm back again with a card featuring a stencil from the new Pretty Pink Posh release. Whimsical Christmas stencil is probably my favorite from this collection. I spent a long time just playing around making backgrounds. This card came together from that. I grabbed a few things out of my stash like the Stitched Ornament dies and the sentiment came from the Penguin Pals stamp set. A touch of glitter, foil and sequins from the Friendship Mix and voila, Christmas card!

The stencil was held down onto some 110 lb Neenah cardstock with Pixie Spray which is great for intricate dies like this when doing ink blending. I highly recommend it. I used Distress ink and some ink blending brushes. The colors of oxide were Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar. I should mention I do several coats to get an even blend.

Be sure to leave comments along the way for your chance to win one of the 4 $25 shop gift certificates that are up for grabs!

My card today features the new Holiday Signs Stamp set and coordinating dies. I also used last years Penguin Pals stamp set. Don't they just look so cute together? I copic colored the images using some bright fun colors I thought set off against the background.

Copics Used: B06, B02, B00; YR00, YR02; BV04, BV01, BV000; RV10 R81, RV000; N2, Colorless Blender.

The background features the new Snowflake Stencil. For this I first blended the background using my blender brushes. The background is Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon & Broken China. Once the background was blended I placed my stencil over and blended on more Broken China. This is what gives the appearance of a fade since at the bottom the color is the same.

For a finishing touch I added the Winter Sparkle Sequin mix. I thought it went well with the colors and the theme.

Thank you hopping with us!

A little Retro - Lawn Fawn

I went a bit retro with today’s card... I am a crafty hoarder. I have paper from years of collecting and that’s after a major purge a few years ago. When this set and paper pack came out I absolutely adored it. So while discussing favorites with another craft friend I started digging through my stash and found this pack. I immediately had to use it. I know it’s a bit different from my normal but I plan to do more like this one soon. Break out those old papers and stamps, you might rediscover some favorites!

Stamptember - Pretty Pink Posh

Welcome crafty friends! Today I am featuring the Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember exclusive. Today I went for a clean and simple design; my attempt at a classic look. Still have my ink blending of course but this time over some bright gold embossing. These trees are perfect for so many different occasions.  I hope you enjoy my take with these stamps.

I used a few different inks here in  Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint sketch. I used my blender brushes and Neenah 110# cardstock. I gold heat embossed the trees on top and the sentiment on a simple black cardstock strip.

Marker #s E47, 44, 43 & 41. The jacket is B02, 00, 000 wwith some BG75 & 72 for the details. Gimme all the buffalo check! - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 61

Hello crafty friends! Im here today with a super CAS card for the new Lawn Fawn challenge #61. I was directly inspired by our new fall decor. This new die from Lawn Fawn worked perfectly for my idea.

The background is the new Lawn Fawn carstock in rainforest. I splattered the cardstock with a little gold watercolor, die cut the pumpkin using some buffalo check paper I have been hoarding for years, and some green Lawn Fawn cardstock for the vine and leaf and a bit of black for the stem. The Thanks sentiment is die cut using Lawn Fawn's gold sparkle cardstock. (And now I need all the sparklie sentiments on everything!)

Trick or Treat - Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! I am here with another entry to the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, Create a Scene. I used the same set with a trick or treat theme this time and a sunset glow in the air. Nothing better then trick or treating as a kid. I have so many fond memories! That's why I find this new set so appealing.
