Flying By - Mama Elephant

 I’m not a big Valentines Day person. But I sure do love the color palette. I was finally in the mood to create with these colors after a whole lot of icy winter cards!

For this card I started the background with the lighter two inks Saltwater Taffy & Worn lipstick and did a blend between the two. Once dry I added a cloud stencil from MFT and used the darker colors Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves right along the edge so the background colors still peek through. Then I copic colored and die cut my images; heat embossed my airplane trails and die cut the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using the same seedless preserves oxide ink. I love how this turned out!

Stamps:

Mama Elephant Little Agenda Airplanes

Mama Elephant Swinging Boarders

Mama Elephant Easy Sentiments

Distress Oxide Ink:

Saltwater Taffy

Worn Lipstick

Picked Raspberry

Yeti Or Not - GCOC

***Update: Winner is Meghan!***

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for joining. You should be arriving here from Jenn; a full list of participants is linked over on Jenn's Blog! Jenn is hosting a YouTube LIVE on December 15th at 8p ET sharing how she made this months card; that would be the perfect time to grab some of those supplies and craft along with us!

Yeti or not its the last Get Cracking of the year! I hope you've been playing along with us all year and have a whole pile of special cards and aren't cramming it in last minute. But if you have been let me incentivize you for next year by offering a $25.00 gift card to Butterfly Reflections Ink (sorry friends US only due to shipping from the store). Just leave a comment here on the blog to enter By Dec 31. One entry per person. I will update this post and on Insta with the winner by Jan 6th. That way you can get some new Christmas goodies for next year to play along with us!

For todays card I started by die cutting some Neenah cardstock with the Stitched Mountain borders and the Stitched Hillside borders. I then took the top panel and inked it with distress oxide in salvaged patina and then the mountains in shaded lilac. I heat embossed the sentiment directly and nestled it between the two biggest mountain tops. For the images I used Yeti or Not, Happy Howlidays and Joy to All. I inked up the tree from Joy to All while I masked off the carpet. I just like the size of this tree with my Yeti. I then copic colored all the images and finished them off with stickles and that’s it!

Copics used: BG13, BG11, BG10, BG0000, BV13, BV01, BV31, RV11, Y35, Y13, Y11.

Stickles: Diamond and Crystal

Llama Tell You - Lawn Fawn

 Happy Friday Crafty friends! Just a short post featuring some Lawn Fawn goodies.

I made this card live on stream and I had so much fun with my friends. It’s a lot of fun to be creative and get live input.

I started with ink blending the background with distress oxide on Neenah cardstock. After it dried I splattered with some  starry watercolors.

I used a few different shades of brown copics for the Llama. I actually colored the blankets red at first but ended up changing my mind. But instead of redoing all my coloring I just restamped the blanket three times, cut them out, and pasted them on top.

Lastly I cut the mountain slopes out of the Neenah Desert Storm cardstock to finish my scene.

Supplies from Lawn Fawn:

Llama tell you

Stuck on you

Baaah Humbug (sentiment)

Stitched Hillside borders

Plus distress oxide in Peacock Feathers, Uncharted Mariner & Black Sooth.

Winter Wishes - Ram

 Hello Crafty Friends! Can you believe its December already?? Where did this year go! Well at least we have a new release to stave off the holiday stresses with. I'm here today with 'Snowman Globe' digi from Ram Stamps and I am totally smitten! Isnt it just the cutest ever? I love me a good snowman & you NEED to add this one to your collection.

For the background on this card I started with some pink cardstock and did some spotlight blending with distress oxide in Saltwater Taffy. You can find a reel on my insta with a demo of this technique if you are interested.

I colored with copics and hand cut my Snowman Globe by hand. As a finishing touch I added some glitter to it as well as the snowbanks and a little glossy accents to the stars.

Merry Xmas - Ram

 Hello Crafty Friends! Back with some more fun digital images from Ram Stamps. Todays card features ‘Woodland Santa’.

First I started with my distress oxide background in Kitch Flamingo, Tumbled Glass and Shaded lilac with a little starry colors in white gold for some splatter. I went a little non traditional with the Pinks for Santa. I also went about my layout a bit differently as well. I think we often feel like we have to use a whole image but today I decided to cut mine in half and have him coming in from the bottom. I feel like this really draws your eye up to the sentiment.

The sentiment is die cut from plain white cardstock but I added Stickles in diamond to give it some extra sparkle. I also added it to Santa around his hat and outfit and the snow on the trees.

Copics:

E53, E51, E44, E43, E4, E29, E27, E25, RV13, RV11, RV00, G28, G24, G20, BG10, N1

Snow time - GCOC

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for joining. You should be arriving here from Jenn; a full list of participants is linked over on Jenn's Blog! Jenn is hosting a YouTube LIVE on November 17th at 8p ET sharing how she made this months card; that would be the perfect time to grab some of those supplies and craft along with us!

For this month I was inspired by the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, "Make the Sentiment the Star". For the card background I used Cracked Pistachio, Broken China & Prize Ribbon distress oxide inks. Once that was dry I added some Gansai Tambi starry colors in yellow gold as some splatter. Then I combined the Deer from Ugly & Bright with the snowflake sweater and the deer from Say What? Holiday Critters. I used E47, E44, E43, E41 on the faces & antlers and BG13, BG10; B69, B66, B63 on their sweaters to go with the background. I then die cut the Giant Let it Snow out of sparkle cardstock in Pixie Dust. Once it was all assembled I decided it needed some extra snow and used a few snowflakes from Happy Howlidays (but really there are lots of sets with snowflakes you can use instead)

Give Cheer - RAM

 Hello Crafty Friends! It’s that time a year again when all holiday crafting collides; from Fall to Halloween to Christmas! I’m here today with some Christmas inspo for you featuring a “Bunny & Guinea: Christmas Gift” that’s a bit different from my normal color schemes.

I actually colored this image before I decided on my background. I went fairly traditional with the reds and greens in the image.

For the background I wanted to really make the image pop and ended up settling on this grey cardstock. It ended up being a perfect match for Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink. So I went and blended all around the edge creating a spotlight effect for the image. Then I brought in the black soot and kept it just around the outter edge. But then I felt like I wanted to add some Christmas Sparkle so I used some of Lawn Fawn liquid stardust. This image does not how how this truly glitters in the light!

Copics used: E55, E53, E51, YR27, YR24, YR21/W1, R29, R24, R22, R20, G28, G24, G21, G12.

GCOC - October

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for joining me. You should be arriving here from Jenn; a full list of participants is linked over on Jenn's Blog! Jenn is hosting a YouTube LIVE on October 27th at 8p ET sharing how she made this months card; that would be the perfect time to grab some of those supplies and craft along with us!

My card this month features the new Mama Elephant stamp set Secret Santa and the dies from Bold Merry Words. There is a coloring demo up for you on my Instagram reels if you want to see! (Cardsbysharna)

After coloring I took a background piece of Neenah cardstock and ink blended in two shades of red. Once the ink dried I went over it with the very glittery Lawn Fawn stencil paste. Because Christmas cards need sparkle!! And boy does it shine! I promise the C in Christmas is red in real life but my window light just wanted to show all the glitter so it’s kind of blown out! Next I die cut the sentiment from another piece of Neenah to layer on top. Don’t forget the inside piece! Lastly I splattered with black ink and made a mess 😂.

And that’s it! It’s a very simple card that will be easy to make more of in the coming weeks because we are getting down to the wire here folks!! Holiday cardmaking is in full swing! If you haven’t joined us before now I REALLY suggest starting so you aren’t stressed come holiday time.

Copics: R29, R24, R22; E11, E51, E00, R20; BG10; N2, N0; E29, E25, E23, E21; N8, N6

Distress Ink: Festive Berries, Candied Apple. With Lawn Fawn Fairy Dust Stencil Paste on top.

Nutcracking Christmas - RAM

 Hello Crafty Friends! I’m here with a brand new Digi Stamp release from Rachelle Anne Miller, “The Nutcracker Scene Creator”!

I started with copic coloring the main images. I am sharing the colors I used for each of them. The accessories are using the same combos as well.

For the background I started with some green cardstock from my stash that matched well with Pine Needles distress oxide. This saves me a bunch of time from having to ink blend a whole panel from scratch. I took that pine needle distress oxide and went around the edges leaving a good portion in the middle untouched. Then I used black soot distress oxide very sparingly around the edges on top. This nicely draws the eye into the middle where our focal point will be. Lastly for the background I added some splatter in Blue Gold Gansai Tambi starry water colors.

As a kid I grew up watching the theater and ballet and my absolute favorite was definitely The Nutcracker. My mom and I still try and go every few years to a performance and it’s always magical. I even have a Mouse King ornament we bought at one of the performances years and years ago. That’s what inspired the color palette for me today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank You - RAM

 Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Sunday! I’m here with a  Rachelle Anne Miller digi design “Canadian Beaver” because I couldn’t resist this sweet pair. I decided to add a fall twist just because.

For the background I used distress oxide in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers & Uncharted Mariner. There is a reel of the ink blending up on my Instagram (cardsbysharna) if you are curious. I then white heat embossed the sentiment, it really pops off of the teal in the background. Then I copic colored the images.

Copics used:

E49, E47, E44, E43 {tails}

E29, E27, E25, E23, E21 {bodies}

RV69, R46 {leaf}

YR18, YR16 {leaf}

Wicked - RAM

 Hello Crafty Friends and happy Saturday to you! I’m here today with a newly released digi stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller ‘Cute Witch’!

For me I’ve always struggled with coloring things purple, there isn’t a wide variety when it comes to Copics especially. So I thought I’d do my best to find a purple I really liked and this is what I came up with!

I really like how it turned out! I hope this maybe helps some of you who may also been struggling like me!

For the card I started with inking the background using a cloudy stencil from Lawn Fawn and some Shaded lilac distress oxide. I darkened the edge very sparingly with Villainous Potion distress oxide. Then I went around the whole panel with lilac as well. Lastly I splattered using white and gold starry watercolors. For the moon I added Scattered Straw distress oxide to the edges to make it pop against the background. Lastly I added diamond stickles to her hat brim and the edges of her sleeves and dress.

Additional Copics: E47, E44, E43, E41 was used on broom, owl and her hair and then I added a wash of YR24 over top to give it a red cast. E53, E51, E50 & R20.

Dream Big - RAM

 Hello Crafty Friends! Hope you are having a wonderful week. I’m here with a DT project featuring 'Dream Big Circus'  from Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps

For the background I did a blend with distress oxide inks. I used Scattered Straw, Saltwater Taffy and Abandoned Coral. Then I splattered the whole thing with white gold Gansai Tambi starry water color. Lastly I stamped the frame around the sentiment (lawn fawn) and used the die to cut it out.

Copics Used: E55, E53, E51, E50; R22, R20, R11, R00; YR21; C0, C1
