Shake it Shake it! - Pretty Pink Posh

 Hello Crafty Friends! Back again with ANOTHER birthday card! Never to many of those and they always come in handy! This one is a shaker card featuring some new goodies from Pretty Pink Posh. 

First I used the circle from the Lets Party Coordinating Dies to cut the window from the cardstock. I ink blended on the cardstock with distress oxide ink in Peacock Feathers on the top very lightly and then Shaded Lilac from the bottom. Once that was done I took the Yellow Gold from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to splatter the background with. 

I put acetate behind my window and a double layer of foam tape to form my shaker. I filled the window with the new Daydream Clay Confetti which I adore! The colors of the card were obviously inspired by that. I then stamped the a piece of cardstock with the main image from the Let's Party Stamp set in a very light grey which I used to close the shaker before attaching the whole thing to a card base.

So to finish this design I wanted to keep it simple so I could make several of them to have on hand! I die cut the present from the Lets Part Stamp Set and did some quick coloring. BG13, BG10, BG000; Y02, Y000. I also used a sentiment from that set and white heat embossed it on black. The present is popped up on foam tape in the center of the window but the sentiment strip is glued directly to the base.

New Baby, New Release - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello crafty friends! Its new release time for Pretty Pink Posh and its one you aren't going to want to miss! Today I am featuring the new Little One stamp set as well as the older Storybook One die I used to make the shaker.

For the card today I used a no line ink to stamp the sweet little lamb. I used some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to do some coloring. I used a little yellow to match with the sequins I wanted to add to the shaker. I'm loving the no line look but this was one of my first attempts that I have been satisfied with.

I used some mint patterned paper. I just love yellow, grey & mint for baby cards. They work no matter the baby. Yellow happens to be my favorite color as well. I used a few sequins for a pop on the card; Lemon Drop, Marshmallow & Sparkling clear.

Birthday Blog Hop - PPP Turns 6!

Hello Crafty Friends! Its blog hop time! Can you believe Pretty Pink Posh turns 6 this year. Incredible achievement for my friend Paulina.

The background features distress oxide ink blended with a narrow blender brush and then splattered with a bit of water. Colors: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Wilted Violet. The balloon was diecut out of plain white cardstock and turned into a shaker. I filled the shaker with clear seed beads. They sound great and move really well even if they are a bit of a pain to photograph.

Back again with another post featuring Pretty Pink Posh!

This time I had to use this adorable panda set from Wplus9; I just can't get over how cute he is! Next to birthday cards and hello cards, get well/I'm here for you cards are my most used; I just never have enough. This set is just perfect for that. I just love this Scallop Frames die cut for that perfect frame for a shaker card. Its just the perfect way to set of the scene.  I have had a hard time NOT using it on every card I've made since!  And of course for the shaker card I had to use everyones favorite sparkling clear sequin mix. These just go with everything! I often prefer to have a variety of sizes in my shaker cards, so this mix is just perfect. Lastly a bit of sparkle with my Wink of Stella on the umbrella.

Tiki Time - MFT stamps

So I just had to make a quick second post about one of my new cards. I saw the new release from MFT stamps and immediately thought of this card. I bought both sets just because I adore tropical themed cards. I made the shaker with probably every red, yellow, pink and gold sequins I own. Ha! Keep an eye out for several more cards like this. So this is my contribution! I hope you like it. I used my new Femme Frames die cuts from Mama Elephant as well as the Water Blooms stamp set. I use a really nifty product for my shaker cards which makes it super easy & no more sticking confetti!! Shake it shaker card pouches come in a ton of sizes and I totally recommend them to anyone who loves shaker cards as much as I do. All the confetti can be grabbed from Pretty Pink Posh store, I ADORE her products.

1st Card of the Year!

Today I made a new baby card. It seems a lot of my friends are expecting this year!

The animation shows the steps of my card but I thought I would add some additional information.

I use these Shake IT pouches for my shaker cards. I get them from my local craft store but you can find them in many placed. I find they work the best with the least amount of work. You may need to use a dryer sheet to remove any static before you place the pouches over the sequins. I usually drop a few sequins in to see how much static they have before I attach it.

Also important is where you place your shaker over your image. You want your main image/words to be just above center with a lot of dead space below. This is so when the sequins are sitting they do not cover anything important and you can see the image/words. Ask me how I know ;)  Lastly, using one layer & masking is the only way to go if you don't want sequins getting stuck.

I made the background using the Bokeh technique I saw in one of the Lawn Fawn videos Here. Basically you ink your stamp and then stamp your paper several times (I did three) before you re-ink your stamp.

Pumpkin Shaker Card

This was one of my first attempts at a shaker card that actually worked. The secret was the shaker pouches I found at my local craft store "Craft Fancy". I got the smaller 2 inch circle ones figuring I would test it out and see what worked. To my surprise they worked like a charm. They were the exactly the right size to use my nested circle dies which is what I used to create a border to hide the edges of the shaker. I used my "so thankful" stamp set from Lawn fawn for the image behind the shaker. I then used my circle die to cut out the pumpkins large enough to go to the outer edge of the shaker pouch. This is the larger nested die of the two I used and the same one I used to make the outer edge of the border. If I do this design again I will use the larger pouches to better show off the images, or if I use the smaller pouch I will only stamp one pumpkin. The sequins are not linked but are from a mixed pack I found at JoAnn Fabrics.
