LAWN FAWNATICS CHALLENGE 102 – ALL THINGS OCEAN

 Hello Crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card to take part in the newest Lawn Fawn challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatic's blog. This challenge is All Things Ocean! 

So for my card today I used a bunch of stuff I had that were extras in a class I just took with Jenn Shurkus called "Mermazing". I highly recommend it. You can take it now even after its no longer live.

For the background we used distress Ink (not oxide) in Salvages Patina and Wilted Violet. This was an extra background I had after playing with the ink smooshing technique. I stamped a few fish and coral directly onto the background using the same inks. The ground I ink blended with Scattered Straw. I stamped the little sea you soon sentiment with Salvaged Patina Oxide since I knew it would layer right over that yellow ink due to the oxide properties.

The images are stamped on Bristol cardstock and colored using my Tombow markers. I wanted a change from my normal copics. I just loved how bright and fun they turned out. And of course "All the Glitter" for them. If you really want to get into glitter I highly recommend Jenn's classes. She has so many tips and tricks.

Shake it Shake it! - Pretty Pink Posh

 Hello Crafty Friends! Back again with ANOTHER birthday card! Never to many of those and they always come in handy! This one is a shaker card featuring some new goodies from Pretty Pink Posh. 

First I used the circle from the Lets Party Coordinating Dies to cut the window from the cardstock. I ink blended on the cardstock with distress oxide ink in Peacock Feathers on the top very lightly and then Shaded Lilac from the bottom. Once that was done I took the Yellow Gold from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to splatter the background with. 

I put acetate behind my window and a double layer of foam tape to form my shaker. I filled the window with the new Daydream Clay Confetti which I adore! The colors of the card were obviously inspired by that. I then stamped the a piece of cardstock with the main image from the Let's Party Stamp set in a very light grey which I used to close the shaker before attaching the whole thing to a card base.

So to finish this design I wanted to keep it simple so I could make several of them to have on hand! I die cut the present from the Lets Part Stamp Set and did some quick coloring. BG13, BG10, BG000; Y02, Y000. I also used a sentiment from that set and white heat embossed it on black. The present is popped up on foam tape in the center of the window but the sentiment strip is glued directly to the base.

Sparkling Birthday - Pretty Pink Posh

 Hello Crafty Friends! Birthday, Birthday & More Birthday! I NEVER have enough birthday cards. So I've really been concentrating on building my stash back up. I just adore the new Birthday Cake Die from Pretty Pink Posh & just how easy it is to get an eye catching card in a few minutes.

For the background I used the new Speckled Egg distress oxide along with Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire inks in a gradient effect. Then I die cut the background die out of some silver sparkle paper. I left the inside piece of the cake stand in to give it some weight. I just love how it looks. I also stamped the sentiment in the Peacock Feathers Oxide ink as well. I also under the Simple Stripes Dies to cut it out. I feel like using a die cut banner looks a little more polished then just straight cuts from a trimmer.

Celebrate - Pretty Pink Posh

 Hello Crafty friends! Back with some more birthday inspiration for you featuring new Pretty Pink Posh products from the January Release. 

For the background we ink blended with the new Kitsch Flamingo, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. These have to be my top distress ink colors right here and I love how they look in a blend! Then I took the new Layered Confetti Stencils and ink blended on using white pigment ink. 

The image is from the new Valentine Circles set but I wanted to show this set is very versatile and works for more than just Valentines. This was colored using some copic markers and I attached directly to the background because I knew I wanted to have the die cut go across part of it and I didn't want to add dimension because of it. Lastly I die cut 2 of the sentiment to layer on top to pop it up a bit.

Box of Love - Pretty Pink Posh

 Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Monday! Im here with a card featuring one of my favorite sets from Pretty Pink Posh Cuddly Cats. 

First I should mention that this card is smaller than A2 at about 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. I am loving this size! I dont know what it is other than its just something different and therefor exciting lol. Anyways I ink blended the background using distress oxides, splattered the background with gold watercolors, white heat embossed the sentiment and copic colored the images. The distress ink combo was very much Inspired by Kristina Werner. I never use Ground Expresso but I loved her unique combos and so worked outside my box!

Quick cards featuring Jungle Background Stencil - Pretty Pink Posj

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a couple of quick and easy cards to share in case you have last minute need for. I used the Jungle Background Stencil and the Simple Sentiments stamp set. 

The background for each one is done with distress oxide through the jungle stencil the pink is done with Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar. The Green is Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover. 

I took the simple sentiments and inked the whole set up with Versamark and I white heat embossed all the sentiments so now I have a pile to use whenever I need a fast sentiment.

Hang in There - Pretty Pink Posh June 2020 Release

Hello there crafty friends! Back with another card from the new Pretty Pink Posh June release. There is a fantastic new die out with this collection called Nature Essentials Dies that can be used to create so many scenes. There are just so many ways each piece can be used. They really maximized the space when designing it too. 

The dies do not cut apart, instead you run it all through at once and it cuts all the individual pieces you need. I die cut mine out of white cardstock and then used ink blending to color each section. Super quick and easy! And they are so versatile. I also cut out the vine from the Stitched Leafy Borders dies for my monkey to swing from. The Monkey is from Monkey Friends stamp set & the Hippo buddy is from Jungle Additions.

Brave Lion - June Pretty Pink Posh Release Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends! Its that time again, a new release from Pretty Pink Posh! This June release is just chock full of amazing stamps, dies & stencils. Its absolutely fantastic! You definitely need to check out the whole release HERE and probably save yourself some money and just order the whole bundle, ha!

For today's card I am featuring the Zebra from Jungle Friends, the grass from our Nature Essentials Dies and a sentiment from the new Simple Sentiments stamp set. I did simple two color blends with my copics for the zebra to make him a bright and fabulous Rainbow!

I inked one of the grassy boarders from the essential dies with some cracked pistachio distress oxide and cut it down to just wide enough for him to be standing in some grass so the image is grounded on the card. A simple black sentiment on a while sentiment strip really stands out against the black of the background.

Sea Friends - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends & greetings on this Memorial Day. I have a non Memorial day card for you but its still a wonderful card to send to those you a missing today especially on days like today.

For this card I started with the background which is a three color blend with distress oxides. I used with Tumbled Glass, then Peacock Feathers and finished with Mermaid Lagoon. Then I took out my Waves Stencil, sprayed the back with some pixie spray & then placed it on top of my blended background. I took the same Tumbled Glass oxide ink and blended that over the first 2/3rds of the card. For the bottom I switched  to the Peacock feathers over the Mermaid Lagoon giving the whole thing more ombre effect. I love how it turned out!

I took a clue from my friend and fellow Pretty Pink Posh team mate Gemma with her recent post on copic color combos using this darling starfish from Sea Friends. I used some of my favorite pastel colors on these. For the Orangy Peach I used YR02, YR00 & R000; the pink one is R20, R11, R00 with a light coat of RV00 over the whole thing (glazing techniques are fun and can expand your color palette) Lastly I used Y02, Y000 for the yellow. The dolphin I used N6, N4, N2 & N0. Of course I finished the whole thing with sparkling clear sequins to act as my bubbles!

Love you Magnolia - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends! I know I don't often to floral cards, they are waaaaaaaay outside my comfort zone but I love all of the Pretty Pink Posh florals so I am trying to use them more. I find her floral design style more approachable.

This card features the Magnolia Flowers. We have a giant Magnolia tree behind my mothers house that has the most gorgeous blooms every year. Since my favorite color is yellow that is the color I chose for these. I used my copics! These are a simple blend of Y13 & Y000 with a hint of Y35 right near the base of the petals for some added contrast.

The background was masked off with some tape and then I did a very light inking with some tumbled glass distress oxide. I used one of my biggest blending brushes as I find the bigger brush surface lets me get a really good light ombre effect. I stamped my sentiment right onto the background. The flowers are glued flat to the card for easier mailing. I finished off the card with some sparkling clear jewels.

Get Cracking on Christmas - with Jenn Shurkus

Hello Crafty Peeps! Thanks for joining me on another edition of Get Cracking on Christmas!

My good friend Jenn Shurkus (Shurkus.com) has been doing the Get Cracking series for several years. Each month on the third Thursday she will be posting new inspiration and hopefully encourage you to get Cracking on Christmas!

Today's card is a slimline, mostly because I'm now obsessed with this style! I used several Lawn Fawn sets in this card including my favorite snowman!

I started this card with the background. I die cut the panel using a slimline die and some Neenah cardstock. I cut a second panel using the same die that I used to cut my boarders from so they would have the stitching around the edges too. The background started with a layer of distress oxide in Shaded Lilac. Over that I brought in blueprint sketch to make my favorite indigo color. At the very edge I added a bit of wilted violet. I then splattered the whole thing with liquid stardust. The greeting I added with some white embossing. I always use the Lawn Fawn white embossing powder for all my embossing because its so smooth but still can handle the smaller detailed sentiments too.

I used copics to color my images; blues in B69, B66 & B63, Greys: N8, N6, N4 & N0, Teals BG13, BG10 & BG0000, Dark Teal in BG78, BG75 & BG 72 Greens G85 & G82 Lgt Greens G17 & G12.

I added sparkle using some the jellyroll sparkle pen to the presents, the snow on the houses and the tops of the mountains.

Cu-Tea - Mama Elephant

Hello Crafty Friends! Well you know how I am about coffee but I'm also a huge fan of Bubble Tea too so I just had to have this new Mama Elephant set. My son Gage thinks Bubble Tea is the best so he was also excited to see this set, especially the one with the kitty cat. I stamped a few card fronts for him to color so we can give to Grandma.



I wanted something simple and sweet that I can send to friends. I made a few in this design in different colors. I love how easy it is to mix Mama Elephant sets! For the background I did a simple ink blending with distress oxide in Worn Lipstick. I then stamped a pair of hearts from the sets & my sentiment that I thought would be great to send to friends.



For the Monkies I did some basic copic coloring with E27, E25, E23 for the bodies & E53, E50 for the faces. I did the Boba Tea in the same way. For the lid on the cup I used E41 to give it a light tint of brown. The straw I did in R11.

LAWN FAWNATICS CHALLENGE 75 – SPECTACULAR SKIES

Hello Crafty Friends! I am back to participate in another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This one is called spectacular skies. I got my influence directly from the card by Jenn Shurkus. I loved her little cloud scene.

So for my card I also chose to do a night sky but in some unexpected colors. I used Peacock Feathers, Faded Lilac and Wilted Violet (who else hopes one of the new Distress colors is another purple??) I then used some Liquid Stardust to splatter the ink blended panel.

I then die cut the bug puffy cloud to act as a landing spot for my sentiment instead of a banner. The other clouds I cut using the cloud frame dies so more of the background would show. Lastly I die cut the hugs die from a few layers of black cardstock. The final touch was a few star sequins.

Missing You - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends!Today's card features a quick and simple idea that can be mass produced fairy easily. I wanted a bunch of cards to be able to pop in the mail for friends and family during this very isolating time. I just love the sentiment sets from Pretty Pink Posh and found so many of them will work for this design. I was heavily inspired by someone's shirt I saw on Instagram, ha! Inspiration can strike at the strangest times but I loved the boldness of the design.

I started with the background; first I thought Id mask everything but then kicked that because it would take a lot longer. So I just inked a plain 110 lb Neenah panel of white cardstock with Dried Marigold and Abandon Coral. Then I stamped and cut out a bunch of the images from Hibiscus Flowers that best matched the print I saw on the T shirt. I did no coloring! I wanted the contrast of the black and white against the bold background. I took a sentiment from Everyday Greetings and white heat embossed it and cut a simple square. I did foam mount it but you wouldn't have to for ease of mailing. And I couldn't resist a little bling to fill in some of the empty spaces so I used some Graphite Jewels. And that's it! It would work for so many people! Just change the sentiment and the colors.

A slothy birthday! - Mama Elephant

Hello Crafty Friends! I mean can you even with the Little Sloth Agenda? I couldnt resist. I made my own cover die using the Little Agenda Frames and I love how it turned out!

I started with a pale green cardstock base for this case. I blended on some distress oxide inks in Shabby Shutters for the first layer and then some mowed lawn to deepen the color around the edges. I die cut the rounded rectangle frame from the frame die set into a strip of white cardstock and added my sentiment strip. I have a bunch of these sentiment stripes while heat embossed on black cardstock and it makes finishing off a card so easy! The sloths I had pre colored prior as soon as I get the set because I couldnt resist. The colors are E40, E43, E44 and E47. The green is Yg17 for the leaves and YG23 for the little birthday hat.

A little light in the dark - Hello Sweetums

Hello my crafty friends! This card has been through a lot. I actually had a video and everything for it; and on the day I heard Hello Sweetums was closing I was in the middle of working on it. And then I was going to post it anyways and it sold out so I kept putting it off. Well eventually I lost the video footage (it got corrupted) and so I shelved it.

I really super loved Hello Sweetums and their owner was just the kind of crafty friend you could want. So please don't get up in arms at me if you can no longer find these sets for sale but I don't want to just never use them again because that would make me beyond sad.

I was inspired originally to make this card as soon as I saw the stamp set. This past summer at my house was the first time in forever I've seen fireflies out in droves and it just really warmed my heart.

Its a bug time - Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty friends! Im here with two Lawn Fawn Bug Deal cards today. I had made the Feel Better card just before everything hit the fan and I was debating if I show share it or not. But well, some of us still need get well cards! So here it is. The second card I thought worked well for a variety of occasions so I left the second part of the sentiment off until I know when I give the card!

The ink blended backgrounds are done with distress oxides. I picked ones that best matched the pattern paper. The purple is Milled Lavender and the green is Shabby Shutters. Neither is a color I used to often but I really like the soft feel. The Feel Better sentiment in the first card is also with the Milled Lavender with a bit of Wilted Violet for an ombre feel.

Heggie Hugs - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Crafty Friends, I hope today finds you all safe & cared for. I have a super sweet card to share with you today featuring the Hedgehog Friends stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh. A little masking, a little ink blending and these guys just really carry the card.

I wanted a color that was soft and dreamy but still with a foresty vibe so I got out Shabby Shutters. Guys WHY dont I use this color more, its so perfect! I masked off the bottom fourth of the card for the ground and originally I had planned to ink it in brown but I just loved the green so much I left it. I think it works great with the white outline around the images too, it makes it somehow more seamless. I loved it so much I made a second card (I'll share it later on this week!)

I did the coloring well before I came up with the idea for the card using copics. I'm so sorry I don't have all the colors but I do know the body on the little Hedgie is E50 & E53. I was just having a zen moment while coloring and didn't mark down like I normally do. And I believe reds are RV89, R35 & R32 because I was playing around with new red combos.
